Cosmetic Cowboys

The cosmetic surgery trilogy is a three part investigative that uncovered barbaric and illegal procedures in Australia's cosmetic surgery industry, which is worth $1.4 billion and performs an estimated 500,000 surgeries a year. The investigation revealed that doctors without surgical training can earn millions by claiming to be cosmetic surgeons. The report studied how surgeons sell themselves on social media, sometimes by breaking the rules or editing photos, and obtained damning internal data showing poor hygiene and safety practices, and dangerous surgeries.
